As part of the value-add strategy for a retail outlet chain WAIDT Services Australia (WSA) management scoped, procured and implemented a unique maintenance strategy for the vast retail network. The strategy involved the use of a multi-disciplined trades workforce to maintain the mechanical, fire and electrical systems. This strategy allowed for 1, correctly licensed, technician to attend a location and complete the statutory maintenance on the equipment. This cut costs for the maintenance substantially as travel to the vast network was cut by two thirds. The technicians were to carry extra stock for the maintenance reducing call backs. The implementation of light tubes changes was also introduced in an effort to further reduce the number of reactive calls for light tubes which are numerous and costly in a multi-site network.
